Global Forum on Civil Society Law

November 17-19, 2005

Istanbul, Turkey

The Global Forum on Civil Society Law will draw together approximately 100
leading experts in the field of civil society law. Participants will
represent a cross-section of stakeholders, including civil society
organizations (CSOs), the government, the legislative branch, academia, and
the donor community. The Forum will address cutting-edge issues organized
under five thematic tracks:

· Reform and Advocacy
· Contemporary Issues and CSO law
· CSO Sustainability and the Law
· CSO Accountability, Transparency, and Regulations
· CSO-Government Relations

In addition, the Forum will include regional workshops to enable
participants to share experiences and develop regional networks of civil
society law reformers.

The Global Forum is being organized by the International Center for
Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL), an international not-for-profit organization
that promotes an enabling legal environment for civil society and civic
participation worldwide. The host organization is the Third Sector
Foundation of Turkey (TÜSEV), which is dedicated to strengthening the
legal, fiscal and operational infrastructure of the third sector in Turkey.
