The International University of Health and Welfare is
pleased to announce the Scholarship Program for Asian
students to study at IUWH beginning in April, 2006.
The purpose of the Program is to enable the recipients
to pursue their studies in the fields of health care
and welfare service and to grow into the leaders who
can make significant contributions to the promotion of
the world health and welfare.
Requirements:
1. number of scholarship recipients: one or two
persons (for the 2006 academic year)
2. qualified students: citizens from Asian countries
or Asian regions at large
3. Fields of study:
School of Health Science: Departments of Nursing,
Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and
Hearing Sciences, Orthoptics and Visual Sciences, and
Radiological Sciences
School of Health and Welfare: Departments of Health
Service Management and Health and Social Service
School of Pharmacy: Department of Pharmaceutical
Sciences
Graduate School: Master's Programs in Health Sciences,
in Health Service Management and in Health and
Welfare; Doctoral Program in Health Sciences
4. Length of study: four years for undergraduate
students except Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences,
which requires six years' study; two years for
graduate students in Master's Programs and three years
for graduate students in Doctoral Program (starting
from April 2006)
5. eligibility:
(5.1) applicants must be good citizens with fine
character and willing to serve their own countries.
(5.2) applicants must return to their own countries
and serve as leaders in the fields of health and
welfare after completion of their studies at IUWH.
(5.3) applicants must have at least 12 year school
education (or equivalent) with good academic record.
(5.4) applicants must have sufficient Japanese
language proficiency or equivalent with Japanese
Proficiency Test (the first level), in order to study
at IUWH, without difficulty.
(5.5) applicants must be in good health.
6. coverage:
(6.1) tuition and admission fees.
(6.2) other expenses necessary for study, textbooks,
uniforms, etc.
(6.3) free accommodations (apartments to be arranged
by IUWH)
(6.4) a living allowance
Note: traveling expenses to and from Japan are not
included in the coverage.
7. other conditions:
(7.1) scholarship recipients are not allowed to do
part time jobs.
'7.2) the recipients, who will drop out or will remain
in the same class for another year, have to pay back
the tuition fees and other expenses provided by IUWH.
Application Procedure and Selection Schedule:
September 30, 2005; deadline for submission of
completed application documents.

Japanese handwritten essay within 800 Japanese letters
and words (Topic: Your motive to apply for the IUWH
Fellowship)
a certificate of the proficiency in Japanese (or a
diploma issued by a Japanese language school)
